  1. Apple’s iPhone 16 Launches without its most awaited feature : Apple Intelligence

The iPhone 16 sale officially went live last Friday but with a compromise for its early buyers. This includes the absence of it’s most awaited AI features which were promised by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook. Features like Visual Search and Image Playground are set to launch next month, while it’s confirmed that these features will also be added to iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

  1. Grok’s Integrated Image Generator Black Forest Labs is raising $100M 

Black Forest Labs, an AI-based text-to-image generator is raising $100 Million at a $1 billion valuation. The company is founded by ex-engineers at StabilityAI, also Elon Musk’s xAI is using Black Forest’s Flux.1 text-to-image model to generate images in Grok Chatbot.

  1. Google announces $120 Million Fund for AI Education 

At the UN Summit of the Future, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai announces that Google is creating a $120 Million Fund for global AI education making Training and Educating about AI accessible all over the world! While partnering with local NGOs and Nonprofits.

  1. OpenAI’s Mega Fundraise of $6.5 Billion may close Next Week 

According to a New report by The Wall Street Journal - OpenAI’s $6.5 Billion Funding round may close by the end of next week. While having $4 Billion in revenue, OpenAI is still losing billions of dollars accompanied with internal clashes and several technical delays.

  1. Runway is Funding $5 Million for Film Making 

Runway has set aside a capital of $5 Million along with other service credits to fund upto 100 original films. The company is ready to fund any Video-based project that utilises Runway in some or the other way. Runway doesn’t expects any kind of ownership in the projects, just requires them to submit a bi-weekly production updates report.

  1. AI-based 911 Emergency Assistant raised $27 Million

The Company, Prepared allows 911 dispatchers to get the caller's real-time GPS Location if the phone supports it. Also via Prepared the dispatchers can receive and respond to text and images, and can answer live video calls via Apple’s Emergency SOS feature in iPhones. Prepared pulls important info including addresses and description of emergencies using AI and shows dispatchers the running transcript of the calls on its web-based platform.

  1. Meta’s Llama Models now also supports Images

Meta’s Llama models have been upgraded to version 3.2 which means that several Llama models are now multimodal. Llama 3.2 11B and 90B can interpret charts and graphs, and can also caption images and identify objects in the given pictures, comes with Llama Guard Vision which is a new safety tool used to detect harmful images or videos fed or generated by the models. Meta is using this model to power its AI assistant, Meta AI across WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook

  1. Meta’s Generative AI feature “Imagine” on Instagram, Facebook and Messenger

Meta’s Imagine Feature which generates images on text-based responses now available on Instagram and Facebook. Users will now be able to use prompts to generate AI photos directly on their Feeds, IG stories and Facebook Profiles.

Meta says it’s also testing new AI-generated content in Facebook and Instagram feeds where it will display AI images created for users based on interests and trends.
